Thailand Builds Additional Submarine Cables

CAT Telecom (CAT) has started its construction of additional submarine cables worth THB 2.7 billion (US$ 84.7 million) in the Gulf of Thailand to leverage its data transmission capacity.

Sompol Chanprasert, senior executive vice president for the broadband business said yesterday that the new cable will better enhance the data transmission from the Center to the South of the country as well as will facilitate international transmission and support the communication of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
